Terms of Service
These terms govern use of FirstMate and the purchase and use of measurement credit.
Auto Top-Up disclosure
If you enable Auto Top-Up and save a card, you authorize FirstMate to charge your saved card for the top-up amount you selected when your organization’s credit balance drops below your threshold.
1. Overview
FirstMate provides roof measurement reports and related outputs (“Reports”). You purchase and use prepaid measurement credit (“Credit”) to submit requests. These terms apply to all users and organizations using the service.
2. Accounts and access
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
- You are responsible for activity under your account and for managing user permissions within your organization.
- We may suspend access to protect the service, your account, or other users.
3. Reports and limitations
- Reports are estimates generated from available imagery and inputs and may contain inaccuracies.
- You should verify measurements and suitability for your specific use case before relying on them.
- Coverage and available data layers may vary by structure and location.
4. Billing, credit, and Auto Top-Up
4.1 Credit purchases
- Credit is denominated in USD dollars inside the app and is used to submit measurement requests.
- When you submit an order, the required Credit is deducted immediately.
4.2 Auto Top-Up
If you enable Auto Top-Up, you set Threshold (the balance that triggers a top-up) and Top-up amount (the amount charged and added as Credit).
- If your balance drops below the threshold, we attempt to charge your saved card for the top-up amount.
- Auto Top-Up may be paused or disabled if a payment fails or additional authentication is required.
- You can disable Auto Top-Up at any time in Company Settings → Billing.
4.3 Card authorization (saving a card)
- When you save a card, you authorize FirstMate to store that payment method with our payment processor (Stripe).
- If Auto Top-Up is enabled, you authorize recurring charges for top-ups under the settings you chose.
4.4 Refunds
Unless required by law, Credit purchases are non-refundable once applied. If you believe a charge is incorrect, contact support promptly with relevant details.
5. Acceptable use
- Do not misuse the service or interfere with system integrity.
- Do not submit addresses or data you do not have a legitimate right to use for measurement/reporting purposes.
6. Privacy (summary)
We store account information, organization settings, and project artifacts necessary to operate the service. Payment details are handled by Stripe; we store only limited card metadata (brand/last4/expiration) for display.
7. Disclaimers
- The service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, to the maximum extent permitted by law.
- Reports are informational outputs and should not be treated as certified measurements.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, FirstMate will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenue, arising from your use of the service.
9. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. Updated terms will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
